OCTOBER 13, 2023 — October 15th to 21st is Education Week in Saskatchewan, a time to celebrate student success and the hard work and dedication of education professionals across the province. This year's theme is "Bright Minds, Bright Futures/Esprits brillants, avenirs radieux." The theme highlights the role of educators in lighting the path for all students to achieve their full potential and in helping to create the bright minds that will lead Saskatchewan into the future.

OCTOBER 5, 2023 — Every year on October 5th, the world celebrates World Teachers’ Day to highlight the responsibilities, rights and the value of teachers. UNESCO introduced World Teachers’ Day in 1994 to draw attention to teachers’ contributions and achievements, as well as to teachers’ concerns and objectives in education. The date of October 5th was chosen as the international day to honour teachers since it was on that date in 1966 that a special intergovernmental meeting accepted the UNESCO Recommendation on the Status of Teachers.

The theme of World Teachers' Day 2023 is "The Teachers We Need for the Education We Want: The Global Imperative to Reverse the Teacher Shortage."

September 13, 2023 -- An Organizational Meeting of the Regina Board of Education was held September 12, 2023. Mrs. Sarah Cummings Truszkowski was declared elected to the office of Chairperson, effective immediately, and Ms. Lacey Weekes was declared elected by acclamation to the position of Vice-Chairperson, effective immediately.
