MARCH 3, 2023 -- This year, MacNeill School’s SRC started a community initiative called “Fill the Fridge.” Each month, one primary and one senior class are designated to bring nonperishable food donations for the community pantries in our city. At the end of each month, the SRC counts, organizes and boxes the donations and then student members, together with their parents, head off to the community pantries to drop off the food items.
Students have been learning about the food insecurity faced by member residents in Regina. Since November, MacNeill’s students have collected over 600 items to place in the pantries. Staff are proud of the student body and their families for getting behind this worthy initiative of helping those struggling with food insecurity. Go, Lakers!
