SEPTEMBER 15, 2022 -- The Provincial Government has proclaimed that the inaugural Saskatchewan Music Education Day will be held on September 15, 2022!
The Saskatchewan Music Educators Association (SMEA) worked with the government to create a day to honour music educators in the province and promote the benefits of music. The goal is to promote the importance of music education so it remains a crucial part of the school curriculum and future employment prospects for university students.
In Regina, there will be a public event at the University of Regina (Education Building Room ED 193) on Thursday, September 15th at 4:30 p.m. This event will also be streamed live on the SMEA Facebook page.
