June 25, 2024 -- The Regina Board of Education has formally announced the name of the new school that will replace Imperial and McDermid Schools and will share the new structure with the replacement for St. Peter and St. Michael Catholic Schools -- St. Raphael.
Introducing Tawâw School.
Tawâw, pronounced Ta-Wow is the Cree word for “come in, you’re welcome; there’s room.” See more at the creedictionary.com
The name was suggested by school staffs. A formal celebration and naming ceremony will be announced in the 2024-25 school year. The new school facility is tentatively scheduled to open in September 2025.
