APRIL 6, 2023 -- On April 7th, WEAR GREEN to recognize Green Shirt Day and organ donation awareness. Green Shirt Day was created following the Humboldt Broncos bus crash and the generous organ donations of Logan Boulet.

Let’s continue to inspire one another because when we register as donors, and tell our family and friends, we are “Together Strong.”

APRIL 5, 2023 -- Today in Regina, Saskatchewan Roughriders President and CEO and 2022 Grey Cup Festival Co-Chair Craig Reynolds announced more than $277,000 in funding to nine communities from the Grey Cup Festival Legacy Grant Program.  Scott Collegiate and mâmawêyatitân centre were one of the recipients.

Development of a “land-based learning” space consisting of native prairie grasses and plants, traditional indigenous medicinal plants, where being outdoors together naturally extends the meaning of mâmawêyatitân, which is Cree for “let’s be all together.”  

MARCH 31, 2023 -- The United Nations will observe World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, 2023, with a global event on the theme "Transformation: Toward a Neuro-Inclusive World for All." The event will take place virtually on Sunday, April 2nd from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST.

March 27, 2023 – The Government of Saskatchewan announced the site of a new West Harbour Landing joint-use school has been confirmed.

Minister of Education, Dustin Duncan; Mayor Sandra Masters; Regina Catholic Board of Education Chair, Shawna Weninger; and Regina Board of Education Chair Tara Molson all spoke at the March 23rd announcement. The announcement was made in front of students and the news media at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic School, which is a joint-use school with Regina Public’s Harbour Landing School.

MARCH 20, 2023 -- March 21st is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It is a day observed all around the world to focus attention on the issues of racism (personal and systemic), oppression, bias, white privilege, colonization, racial inequity/injustice, and truth and reconciliation. Canada was one of the first countries to support the UN initiative and launched its first annual campaign against racial discrimination in 1989.

An important aspect of fostering healthy and respectful relationships is embracing diversity in all its forms. We need to recognize and reject racism to create welcoming and inclusive communities.
